Universities receive millions of dollars in anonymous gifts, writes Time magazine in this article.
Breakdown is as follows:
Purdue: $8 million
UNC-Asheville: $1.5 million
Univ. of Iowa: $7 million
Univ. Southern Miss.: $6 million
UNC-Greensboro: $6 million
Univ. of Maryland-College Park: $6 million
Univ. of Colorado-Colorado Springs: $5.5 million
"Each was delivered since March 1 and came with the same stipulation: Most of the money must be used for student scholarships, and the remainder can be spent on various costs such as research, equipment, strategic goals and operating support."
The chancellors also had to sign a confidentiality agreement that they will not seek out who the donor is.
OK, now that we have the colleges covered, how about some anonymous donations to pay off my college loans and fund my future graduate school studies :)
